Our Team

Small Team, Big Mission

We’re focused and ambitious. Our team brings deep expertise in marketing, product development, AI, sustainability, and circular economy. Together we’re building the infrastructure to make responsible recovery and recycling effortless for millions of households.

Sonia Lange Ramontja

CEO & Co-founder

Sonia researched circular economy principles at Cambridge Executive MBA under Professor Khaled Soufani, where she identified a critical friction point: upwards of 60 million tonnes of electronics end up in landfill annually despite being highly recyclable. With over a decade in design and advertising, she brings a user-centered approach to solving systematic barriers in e-waste recycling. She founded Retapp in March 2025 to make responsible reuse and recycling the easiest choice for households and businesses.

Junru Xiong

CTO & Co-founder

As a former data scientist at Rolls-Royce, UCL alumnus, and founder of Starmoon AI and IncarnaMind, Junru brings deep technical and entrepreneurial experience to Retapp. When Sonia introduced him to the e-waste challenge through mutual contact Caroline Gorski, he immediately recognised the opportunity: only 20% of UK household e-waste gets recycled properly. He co-founded Retapp in March 2025 as CTO to build AI tools that make sustainable choices automatic rather than aspirational.

Alden Spiess

Advisor

With 25 years in software development and product management, including leading go-to-market strategy at Cambridge deep tech startup VividQ, Alden joined Retapp as an advisor when the concept was still taking shape. His experience delivering complex B2B products to global tech brands and building cross-functional teams made him a natural fit for helping Sonia and Junru define product roadmap and market positioning. Alden advises on the principles that turn promising concepts into sustainable businesses, particularly in circular economy models where user behaviour change is essential to commercial success.

Jigar Patel

Advisor

Jigar advises Retapp on growth strategy and operations, bringing experience from consulting with digital media and e-commerce companies across the UK, North America, and India. As President of CUTEC at Cambridge, he connects deeply with the startup and climate tech ecosystem, making him well-positioned to guide Retapp through scaling challenges. He met Sonia during their Executive MBA at Cambridge and joined as an advisor because Retapp aligns with his focus on technology-driven solutions to environmental problems.
